Reef Rush Tips: Catch More Fish in 60 Seconds
Reef Rush tips for the 60-second fishing game: which fish to tap, how to avoid pufferfish, and how to handle the fast final seconds.
Reef Rush gives you 60 seconds and a reef full of fish. Tap fish to catch them, keep away from pufferfish, and try to stay calm as things speed up toward the end. It's quick, lively and easy to pick up, and a little planning helps you catch a lot more. Here's what to know.
How the game works
A few rules shape every round:
- Each round lasts 60 seconds.
- Small fish are the fastest and worth the most points. Medium and big fish are slower and worth less.
- Tapping a pufferfish costs you 3 seconds off the clock.
- As time runs down, fish speed up and spawn faster.
- The timer pauses if you switch tabs, so you won't lose time if something pulls you away.
The milestones
Reef Rush milestones are about the number of fish you catch, and each pays once:
- Catch 30 fish total: 250 points
- Catch 40 fish in one run: 900 points
- Catch 500 fish total: 2,800 points
Two of these add up across all your runs, so every round you play moves you forward. The 40-in-one-run milestone is the one that rewards a strong single round. Results are verified on our servers, so only real runs count.
Choosing which fish to tap
Since the milestones are about fish caught, think about speed of catching rather than points per fish:
- Go for the easy catch. Slower medium and big fish are easier to hit, especially when the reef is busy.
- Take small fish when they're close. They're worth more in-game points, but don't chase one across the screen and miss three easy fish on the way.
- Scan, then tap. Look for clusters where you can catch several fish quickly in a row.
- Don't tap blindly. Random tapping is how you hit pufferfish.
Avoiding pufferfish
Three seconds is a lot in a 60-second round, and it's worse near the end, when fish are spawning fastest. A few habits keep you safe:
- Check before you tap. Take a split second to confirm what's under your finger, especially in crowded areas.
- Let crowded spots go. If a pufferfish is tangled up with other fish, wait for it to swim clear.
- Stay steady under pressure. Pufferfish mistakes happen most when you rush in the final seconds.
Pacing the round
Reef Rush gets harder as it goes, so think of the round in three parts:
- The opening. Fish are slower and spawn less often. Catch steadily and build your count without taking risks.
- The middle. The pace picks up. Keep your eyes moving across the whole reef so you spot new fish quickly.
- The final stretch. Fish are fast and plentiful. There are more targets than ever, which is great for your count, but it's also when pufferfish mistakes happen. Stay accurate.
If you need to step away mid-round, switch tabs. The timer pauses, and you can pick up where you left off.
Reef Rush and your dailies
A full Reef Rush round lasts 60 seconds, unless pufferfish cut it short, so a normal round comfortably passes the 30-second mark for the "Play a game today" task. It's also an easy pick as one of the three games for the game sampler. Our levels and streaks guide explains how those daily rewards work.
